Hasta ocho futbolistas del filial realizarán la pretemporada con el primer equipo del Villarreal. Una cifra que supone la mayor aportación de jugadores del segundo equipo a una pretemporada del conjunto amarillo. Además, muchos de ellos harán la pretemporada para quedarse. Y es que la gran temporada realizada por el Villarreal B, y el hecho de que el entrenador les conozca, es una garantía de éxito. 

Joan Oriol, José Manuel Catalá, Mario Gaspar, Mateo Musacchio, Jefferson Montero, Marco Ruben, Cristóbal y Juan Carlos son los elegidos. La mayoría ya saben lo que es jugar con el primer equipo amarillo en la máxima categoría. Así pues, el filial tendrá que realizar una importante reconstrucción de la plantilla. Además, el actual entrenador, Paco Herrera, ya ha anunciado que no continuará.  

En esta tesitura, media docena de futbolistas del Villarreal C tendrán su oportunidad en la Liga Adelante. Apenas han rebasado la mayoría de edad, pero apuntan alto y quieren aprovechar la ocasión. Los defensas Fran y Óscar Prats, los centrocampistas Nico y Javier Modrego y los delanteros Mauricio y Joselu ya han trabajado a las órdenes de Paco Herrera en el filial. Asimismo, se van a hacer varios fichajes para apuntalar el equipo.

No olvidemos que Joselu ha sido la gran revelación de la temporada en Tercera División. El delantero andaluz ha anotado nada menos que 27 tantos (8 en División de Honor y 19 en Tercera). Sin duda alguna, el Villarreal tiene el futuro garantizado con estos futbolistas.
